I hate bios. Like, when you're not promoting yourself or pimping your art what do you write here??
I've been drawing since before I could walk. When I graduated highschool I was going to be a fashion designer and specialize in pre 1600's costumes. At the last minute I chickened out. "If I had it all to do over again..." I would really change my career to healthcare back in school. I was an artist then and I'm an artist now. My 9-5 doesn't really change that. A trade career would have liberated me from the indignities of being a dependent, freed up my time to use to practice, and given me the financial backing that I lacked. I know thats not the most bohemian thing to say but it is very true. When you only have yourself to rely upon, sometimes practicality wins out.
Now, I'm back into the creative process. I've been painting consistently for the last 4-ish years... I've participated in a few art guild galleries. I've got a website. kind of. And right now I'm working on scanning my paintings.
I take inspiration from andrew loomis, ralph bakshi, frank franzetti, and the grateful dead. My current mediums are #2 pencils with a pink eraser and posca markers. I still work with acrylics when I'm painting bigger canvases though. My favorite sketchbook size is 9/6. Small enough to be portable big enough to flesh out my ideas.
