The story of the glass maiden

Fri Mar 20, 2009, 6:15 AM
Once upon a time...

There was a maid who was very bored her loves. Bored with her loving paint, with the pencils...and finally her sewing needles and fabric. "you are all much to droll!" she cried futilely "I need something interesting that suits me" so she banished the three from her sight. She longed for an aethstetic beauty that fit her temperment. One day, she happened by the local black smith who was putting together a window for the abbey.
"whats that sir" she asked
"Its a glass window for the abbey down the road They had it especially commissioned" The black smith said as he pounded two strips of lead together.
"really? What makes it special" she asked
"There is a picture in the glass maiden. When im done i will show you" he said turning back to his work.

many days went by as the maiden waited. Normally her interest would have floated on to something new and she would have forgotten about it, but her curiosity and anticipation of this strange new style of glass. Finally word arrived from the blacksmith that it was finished and installed in the abbey. The maiden left at once for the abbey and when she got there she fell in love at first sight of the elegant beauty. It was early morning so the light showed cleanly through the colored pieces of glass. Her heart pattered on the walk home, she had to learn more.

The next day she went back to the blacksmith.
"Please teach me this art!" She begged "I studied alchemy once but it wasnt anything like this!"
The blacksmith scratched his head and thought a bit. I cant see why not, the proccess is so easy that a maiden like you will master it in no time!

And so The maiden learned the craft, and soon became known as the glass maiden, for all of the beautiful glass she made!

Well, they are actually not glass....though they look like it. I make them from clay and paint them...finish them with a gloss...and that is the end result!
:iconlittlenjo:
Wow, truly amazing.... how long have you sculpted these tiny arts
